this design is inspired by the delicate little mountain laurel flowers that bloom in late spring/early summer.
as far as the stitching goes, this one is pretty simple. it's (pretty much) all outlines, so it should stitch up relatively quick.

i am starting with the light pink floss and stitching the outlines of each flower, and the lines radiating out from the center.
i really like whipped back stitch for this, because it creates a smooth, slightly raised, rounded line.
for each flower, i'm working the foundation stitches first - those are the back stitches you see below - and then i'm going back over those lines using a whip stitch. 2 strands for everything.
and here they are, all stitched. love that texture!
next up for this mountain laurel pattern, i'm using the dark pink floss, and i've got 2 strands in my needle.
satin stitch for the spots on the outer edges of the petals, and whipped back stitch for the scalloped ring toward the center of each flower.
...
i'm using 2 strands of floss and star stitch, and once these centers are done, that'll be it!
and here we are, all done:
while i won't be releasing this one as a PDF, it will be available in mid-september as a complete kit and a preprinted pattern.
happy stitching! 💙
