stitch club :: 03/2025 :: alignment
introducing 'alignment,' the newest pattern for cozyblue stitch club!

this celestial-inspired design features the phases of the moon, a vibrant rainbow, swirling wind, and a large graphic sun, all stitched onto a striking black background. ✨
let's embrace the magic of the night sky and the grounding energy of nature as we stitch this together.

i like to start my projects with something simple and straighforward - with the least amount of decision-making possible - so i'm beginning with this rainbow in the center of the design. classic back stitch, 2 strands.

after back stitching all of the light blue wind lines, i have my needle threaded with 2 strands of the dark blue floss➰ and now i'm using the dark blue to whip the back stitches. (this stitch is called whipped back stitch)
i was planning to use light blue for this part, but i didn't have quite enough floss. so dark blue it is, and i like the swirly two-toned lines! it's been a while since i stitched in two-tone.

i made the stars in the center with a combo of star stitch, colonial knots, and cross stitches. i used 2 strands of dark blue for this part also.
next up, i've started working on these moons, and i am using padded satin stitch, with 2 strands of the purple floss. (here are some non-satin fill stitch ideas. and here are a few more.)
for the new moon, there won't be any fill, so i used whipped back stitch for that one.
✨i'll be updating this post as i make more stitching progress... stay tuned! ✨
It’s beautiful!
