stitch club :: 10/2025 :: calm + bright

introducing 🌲💙 calm + bright 💙🌲 our october stitch club pattern! this sweet scene feels so perfectly cozy, warm, and peaceful to me. i can't wait to get started!

i decided to start with the orange slice garland:

using 2 strands of the orange floss, i am using satin stitch for the wedges, outlining with back stitch, and then going back around each so that the orange peel is done with whipped back stitch:

ok! now i've finished with the orange part of the orange slices (i'll go back to them to stitch the white part later) so i'm moving on to the plant.
i like split stitch for this part; i feel like it mimics the texture of the norfolk pine branches nicely. i'm using 2 strands here.

once the plant is all done, let's go back to the orange slices and finish those.
with the light tan color floss [2 strands], i'm using back stitch and star stitch to fill in between the orange segments, and around the, just inside the peel.

for the basket... a whole bunch of back stitch [2 strands]:

next i'm working on the cutest part of this pattern...Â

to make this bakers twine for the garland, i started with 2 strands of red floss and back stitched the whole thing. then i used 2 strands of white to whip those stitches. so, whipped back stitch for the bakers twine - isn't it perfect?
and last but not least, the stars. i'm using a single strand of white, colonial knots and cross stitches:

and here's the final piece, all framed up:

i love this peaceful cozy scene 💙
I love this. Norfolk Pines are some of my absolute favorite plants.

Love this one! Reminds me of Yule and I’m excited to put it up for the season.
