we are on spring break this week (well technically, my kids and husband are on break, but you know i don't want to work too much while they're home, so i might as well take a break too)... i'm so glad that it's finally feeling like spring! everything is bursting into bloom, the trees are leafing out, and (despite the pollen) life feels fresh and full of possibility. i love springtime! something i look forward to every year is this giant field of canola at biltmore. it makes me happy just looking at it.

i know it seems early, but... coming up next month: mother's day! and you know what makes a great gift? a handmade, embroidered hoop, stitched with love and thoughtfulness. which design do you think she'd like best?

or if your mom is the crafty kind of mom, perhaps she'd like an embroidery kit. give her something to indulge her creativity, and encourage her to slow down, get cozy, get crafty. she'd love that!
