stitch club :: 2/2022 :: greenery

for these first stitches on my new stitch club pattern, greenery, i'm working outwards from the center, and all of this is [satin/2] so far.

for this next round, i'm using [star/2] and [colonial knots/2] to turn these stars into flowers.

for the tulips, i am using [satin/2] again. first i filled the entire tulip flower using the light blue, and then i added the yellow over those stitches. those little stamen are just little [straight/2] stitches.
the stems are [back/2] and the leaves are [brick/2]

this next round, the little berries and branches, is done with [back/2] and [satin/2]

here on the outermost round, i'm stitching the leaves and petals with [satin/2], and i've added a few [straight/2] stitches to the petals for a pop of color. (i might do the same for the yellow leaves... but i'm not sure yet.) and just like the earlier rounds, the stem here is [back/2].

and here you can see, i decided to add the little accent stitches on the yellow leaves. one little [straight/2] on each leaf, and the same for the brown fern leaves toward the center of the design.
there are a few clusters of knots too -- and i've used [colonial knot/2] there. and the same for the center of the flower in the middle.

i think this one is done! it's so fun seeing the difference between the first and last photos here.
