stitch club :: 4/2025 :: sweet dreams

this cozy bedroom window scene is called 'sweet dreams' and it's our new april pattern for stitch club. 💙
i've started mine with the diagonal lines on the wallpaper. i'm using back stitch and 2 strands (but kinda wish i'd used 1):

look at these teensy little flowers! aren't they cute? i'm using 2 strands of the pink floss and star stitch here.

to make this window frame, i'm using the super light gray floss, and a single strand, i'm back stitching all the lines. nice and simple, all straight lines, easy peasy.

the little purple flowers on the wallpaper are next. colonial knots (2 strands) for the flower. fern stitch (2 strands) for the stem and leaves.

 i worked on the starry sky today, using the light yellow floss.
for the stars, 1 single strand, colonial knots and cross stitches.
for the moon, 2 strands and brick stitch. i stitched 4 rows along the outer edge, 2 rows along the inner edge, and i think i'm going to leave that little sliver open.
i also stitched the pot, using the terra cotta colored floss. i used 2 strands and satin stitch here, doing my best to work around the leaves and vines. i want the pot to appear behind the plant, so that's why i stitched that part first.

so i have been working on the leaves of this pothos plant, using satin (2 strands) and it's looking pretty good!
i was a little worried that, without an outline, all the leaves would look like one big green blob. to prevent the blob, i'm paying close attention to the angles of the stitches, and varying the stitch orientation from one leaf to the next. that way, the light catches the floss from different angles and helps differentiate the leaves from one another.

for this little trio of pillars, i chose satin stitch again (2 strands). and just to add an extra pop of color, i added a tiny stitch of terra cotta floss for the flames.
and now, i think she's done!Â

Thanks for the note about the yellow lines on the wall – I just used one strand it looks great!!
