stitch club :: 10/2020 :: forest floor (progress)
october's stitch club pattern is this "forest floor" design, inspired by the beautiful leaves that cover the ground in autumn.
this one can be stitched using fills or outlines (or both!) so depending on how much time, patience, and floss you have right now, this can be a simple stitch or a more complex and layered one.⠀
⠀
there are some very basic lines in the mix here -- straight stitches, cross stitches -- so if you are unsure about where to start, i suggest starting with the simplest parts.
so far i've been using just a handful of basic stitches (and 2 strands for everything) for mine:
- lazy daisy (red leaves)
- colonial knots (light blue dots)
- cross stitch (orange)
- straight stitch (dark blue)
- satin and chain (green leaves)
- back and whipped back stitch (yellow leaves)
remember that i've got tutorials and illustrated how-to's for my favorite basic stitches in the STITCH LIBRARY on my website, and i'm sharing all of my stitching progress on instagram if you'd like to follow along.
