book contributor
i'm a book contributor! at the end of last year, i designed and stitched 10 patterns for a new embroidery book. published by penguin random house, and written by nathalie mornu, embroider your life just hit the shelves last week! i received my copies in the mail and they look so good.
the first half of the book is all about the basics of embroidery -- fabric, floss, tools, how to transfer, and some stitching instructions. the second half features 150 designs from 20 amazing contributors, plus stitched samples, color ideas, and tips for using the designs in your own creative way.
i'm so honored to be a part of it!
speaking of books, you know reading is one of my other favorite past times and i love to talk about books. i'm currently reading little fires everywhere and re-reading braving the wilderness. i saw brene in charlotte recently and she was as funny and inspiring as i knew she would be. her newest book is so, so good. i've got the audio and hardback versions, both of which are full of highlights.
+ someone from our summer reading list suggested the dry and i really loved it. if you are a fan of murder mysteries, check this one out. it's a page turner and a quick, absorbing read.
+ are you guys on goodreads? i have been there for years, but for the past year or so i've been trying to be better about recording what i've read.
stitchers, thread heaven is retiring their popular thread conditioner. it's selling out quickly all over the place, but i think jenn at red thread studio still has some in stock if you hurry!
