stitch club :: 2/2026 :: citrus

for this months' new pattern, let's stitch something light, fresh, and simple.
this sweet design is going to be a fun one.

to start, i'm keeping it super simple. using the dark green floss, i outlined all of the peels in [back/2].
then  i used [back + seed/1]  to stitch the contour lines + dots on the outer peel, and the lemon segments.

for the fruit leaves, i'm outlining with [back/2] and then filling in half of each leaf with [brick/2].

the vines are also stitched in the same dark green we've been working with, but for these, i'm using [satin/2] for the leaves. as you can see here, i'm making the stems [whipped back/2].

using more [satin/2] and the pink floss, i stitched the flower petals, then made a single [colonial knot/2] in the center with the aqua floss.

i love these wonky dots around the border - i'm stitching them in aqua with [satin/2].
for the dark green outline, [brick/2].  (i am making two offset rows of back stitches, otherwise known as brick stitch.)

one last thing: i want to fill in the fruit leaves with a little pop of color. i'm using [brick/2] to fill the other half of the leaves.

💙 i'll be updating this post as i make more stitching progress... stay tuned! 💙
